Meadow Woods Apartments is looking for a reliable and adaptable Maintenance Technician I to support our large garden-style community of 712 apartment homes in Alexandria, VA 22306. 

We are looking for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical aptitude, good troubleshooting skills, and experience across multiple areas of apartment maintenance. The ideal candidate can independently handle common maintenance issues while knowing when a repair requires additional technical expertise.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Respond to and complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Troubleshoot and perform general plumbing, basic electrical, appliance, carpentry, drywall, and other apartment repairs.
• Complete apartment turnovers and punch-list repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and property inspections.
• Assist with maintenance of hot-water and boiler heating systems.
• Identify recurring or more complex maintenance problems and escalate when appropriate.
• Document completed work accurately and note any required follow-up
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and provide professional, courteous service when working in occupied apartments.
• Participate in a rotating after-hours emergency on-call schedule.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

• We require a minimum of two (2) years successful experience in apartment/town-home maintenance. Will also consider strong and verifiable work experience in a related field.
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair skills, or strong technical aptitude with relevant and verifiable work experience
• Knowledge of hot water/ boiler heating systems a plus
• Tile, carpentry, and drywall finishing skills are a big plus
• Option to live on-site OR must be able to reach Meadow Woods Apartments within 15 minutes or less when on on-call duty
• Must be professional, dedicated to high performance and courteous at all time
• Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate and interact with residents and staff
• Must have personal, reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• $22.75 – $24.00 per hour (depending on experience)
