Career opportunity for a bi-lingual (English/Spanish), outgoing, professional people-person with great customer service skills and some sales experience to join our team at University City, a dynamic 400-unit apartment community in Hyattsville, MD.

 

ESSENTIALS OF THE JOB:

The individual in this position is responsible for

  • maximizing resident satisfaction by joyfully providing service and resolution to concerns and accurately scheduling maintenance requests and fulfilling administrative tasks at the highest effective level possible
  • effectively marketing the community and assisting with maximizing occupancy by cheerfully leasing apartments and effectively marketing the community

The successful candidate is a people person with an outgoing personality, terrific customer services skills, solid experience in overcoming objections and sales experience, and has a detail- oriented mind to focus on processing paperwork and recording resident transactions timely and accurately. Professional appearance, dependability, and the ability to multi-task in a super busy and fast paced environment are expected.

 

The Customer Care Representative / Leasing Assistant

  • is the main point of contact for our residents – whether they call, visit in person or online
  • focuses on warmly and joyfully connecting with our residents and on successfully addressing and resolving resident concerns
  • takes service requests and ensures timely and satisfactory completion, incl. follow up.
  • is responsible to follow up on water meter readings daily and coordinate inspections with maintenance for high/low consumption
  • is responsible for coordinating weekly pest control services per schedule
  • plans resident activities and provides oversight for multiple events during regular business hours and sometimes in the evening/on the weekend
  • assists with leasing activities such as tours, follows up on Knock and on applications
  • is responsible for advertising vacant apartments on craigslist (post 25 listings per day)
  • is confident, professional, and creative in greeting and retaining our residents
  • is familiar with and follows company policies and procedures
  • handles general office duties and other duties as assigned by the Property Manager
  • must be willing to be cross trained in leasing and bookkeeping

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Min. 1 (one) year of successful customer service experience, preferably in property management
  • Solid customer service skills
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)
  • Sales experience
  • Strong administrative skills, incl. organizational skills, time management skills and ability to focus on details
  • Excellent business communication skills (verbal, written, computer proficiency) Professional, polished appearance and conduct at all time
  • Must be computer proficient, incl. MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Must be available to work Saturdays. Sunday availability may be necessary at times
  • Outgoing, warm, engaging, inviting, and joyful personality and capability to easily connect with a wide variety of people
  • Dependable and committed to deliver continuously high performance in a multi-task and fast-paced environment
  • Resourceful in coping with a variety of situations
  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers’ license

 

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with OneSite/RealPage and Knock
  • Prior experience in property management leasing/customer service
